Philadelphia Nonprofits Anxiously Await Corbett Budget

Date:
March 8, 2011

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett will take the wraps off of his first state budget on Tuesday, which he has vowed would not raise taxes. The state faces a projected $4 billion budget shortfall.

The Urban Affairs Coalition is among those anxiously awaiting the release of the budget, which could threaten Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter's own budget proposal, which so far contains no new taxes, maintains services and makes $34 million in new investments.
