Fatherhood and Parental Engagement Rountable

The July roundtable will provide an opportunity to learn more about the reality of fatherhood in low-income communities, the barriers that non-custodial fathers face in their attempts to be involved parents, and programs that are working to provide fathers with the skills and the confidence to take on a greater role in the lives of their children.

ABAFAOILSS College Workshops and Fair

On Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 9:30am-12pm, ABAFAOILSS is hosting a college fair at the University of Pennsylvania. College representatives will present three workshops explaining selective college admissions, financial aid literacy and the benefits of choosing a women's college. 2015 Philadelphia Black Political Summit

On Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9am-5pm and Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 12:30pm-4pm, The Philadelphia Black Political Coalition will host The Philadelphia Black Political Summit at Dobbins CTE High School at 2150 Lehigh Avenue. The Summit is open to all individuals and organizations in the Black community interested in participating in the development of a collective Black agenda.

"Love Yourself" Cultural Enrichment Workshop hosted by Ridock King

On Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10AM-2PM, Joshua Keller and Mental Ambition, LLC will host a cultural enrichment workshop. This event will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center located on 21st & Cecil B. Moore. This workshop will emphasize the important of self-love and self-esteem through cultural expression. Joshua will discuss African American history, hip-hop, community involvement and health and fitness.
Global Citizen/ MLK365 Neighbors in Action Community Leadership Workshops

After the largest Martin Luther King Day of Service, Global Citizen is now preparing for their MLK365 program to continue to share opportunities for citizens to turn their concerns into action. As a part of this program, Global Citizen will host Neighbors in Action Leadership Workshops throughout the Spring and Summer. These workshops will show how to engage local communities, recruit volunteers and host service projects.
