The Free Library of Philadelphia teamed up with Producer's Guild and PJP to unveil their Mysterious Travelers Concert Series. You're invited to see their next installment, Karen Smith Monday, March 9th at Parkway Central Library.

On Monday, March 9th beginning at 7pm, the Free Library of Philadelphia, Producer's Guild and PJP teamed up to bring you the next installment of of their Mysterious Travelers Concert series, Karen Smith. Smith is a percussionist, playwright, director, producer, poet, and educator originally from Brooklyn but a Philadelphian since 1993. Here is your opportunity to meet Smith live in concert at the Parkway Central Library within the Montgomery Auditorium.

Join Entrepreneur Works Monday, April 20th for their 13th Annual Taste of Success Event. This year's theme is What's Your Secret Sauce?

On Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6pm-8pm, Entrepreneur Works will host their 13th Annual Taste of Success event at the International House Philadelphia. Taste of Success, an annual cook-off/bake-off, networking event and cocktail party, is the perfect opportunity to connect with other entrepreneurs. This year's theme, What's Your Secret Sauce, looks at the ingredients an entrepreneur needs to be successful. Attendees will be able to sample the contestant's creations and choose winners for the People's Choice and Most Innovative awards.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 9am-10am, ODAAT will be hosting Heads Up! Just Say No! This is an event that you do not want to miss. Guest speaker Sgt. Linda Wagner will be offering words of inspiration to just say no to drugs. This event will take place at ODAAT's headquarters located on 2532 North Broad Street.

In honor of Women's History Month the Franklin Institute will present their Color of Science Panel Discussion on Friday, March 13th from 6pm-8:30pm at the Franklin Institute. The program will highlight remarkable women in science and demonstrate opportunities for all populations in a variety of careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

"Love Yourself" Cultural Enrichment Workshop hosted by Ridock King

This cultural enrichment workshop is for middle school age (10-14) Black and Latino males.

On Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10AM-2PM, Joshua Keller and Mental Ambition, LLC will host a cultural enrichment workshop. This event will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center located on 21st & Cecil B. Moore. This workshop will emphasize the important of self-love and self-esteem through cultural expression. Joshua will discuss African American history, hip-hop, community involvement and health and fitness.

After the largest Martin Luther King Day of Service, Global Citizen is now preparing for their MLK365 program to continue to share opportunities for citizens to turn their concerns into action. As a part of this program, Global Citizen will host Neighbors in Action Leadership Workshops throughout the Spring and Summer. These workshops will show how to engage local communities, recruit volunteers and host service projects.

Now accepting applications for their Rising Seniors Scholars college prep residential program. If you or someone you know is a female high school senior, we encourage you to develop your leadership with Teenshop Inc. at Bryn Mawr College this summer.

UAC Program Partner Teenshop Inc. empowers ‘girls with goals’® to become caring, courageous leaders and change agents in their communities and beyond. Teenshop Inc. is now accepting applications for Rising Senior Scholars, a two week college prep residential program at Bryn Mawr College from July 12th until July 15th. While at Bryn Mawr College, girls who are seniors in high school will attend workshops that cover topics such as leadership, SAT Prep, college essay writing and financial literacy.

2015 African American Children's Book Fair

We invite you to come experience an enriching day of African American Children's literacy. Meet and greet with some of the literary world's most profound authors of our time. Make Saturday, February 7. 2015 a family day.

On Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1pm-3pm, the 2015 African American Children's Book Fair will be hosted at the Community College of Philadelphia located at 17th & Spring Garden Street in the gymnasium. Award-winning authors and illustrators will be in attendance to read and autograph their books. There will be a wide selection of African American books for children, preschool to young adult available for purchase. As an added bonus, promotional giveaways, prizes, and games will highlight the afternoon.
