Coding Kickstart: Intro to HTML & CSS w/NYCDA Philly

Join the New York Code + Design Academy (NYCDA) as the team from our Philly campus teaches a crash course in HTML & CSS, the basics of coding from 6pm- 8pm.

Enjoy the elegant atmosphere at the Parkway Central Library while gaining a few new tech skills and creating a basic webpage. You'll be able to walk away with knowledge of some concepts of front-end web development. This course will be taught by one of our NYCDA alumni. All you need is an open mind and a fully charged laptop. We look forward to seeing you there!

At this meeting members of the community will have a chance to provide input and help define the opportunities and challenges that families are facing here in Philadelphia.

Anti-Defamation League Volunteers Needed for 5K Walk Against Hate

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, join the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for the 5th Annual 5K Walk Against Hate in an effort to reject bigotry and celebrate diversity.

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will host their 5th Annual 5K Walk Against Hate from 11am-2pm starting at Martin Luther King Drive. The walk will bring together people from across the region to reject bigotry and celebrate diversity. In addition to the walk, this event will include a Diversity Expo highlighting the work of over 20 local nonprofit organizations working in areas such as LGBT equality, culture and ethnicity. Local musicians will also be feature on the Diversity Expo stage.

On Saturday, May 9, 2015, ABAFAOILSS is hosting their Annual Access Workshops and College Fair on Saturday, May 9th from 9:30am-12pm at the University of Pennsylvania.

On Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 9:30am-12pm, ABAFAOILSS is hosting a college fair at the University of Pennsylvania. College representatives will present three workshops explaining selective college admissions, financial aid literacy and the benefits of choosing a women's college. UAC President & CEO Sharmain Matlock-Turner has been nominated for Rad Connector of the Year at Rad-Girls.com first annual Rad Awards. Join her Saturday, April 18th and celebrate this tremendous honor.

On Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 7pm-10pm, the first annual Rad Awards will take place at The Dreaming Building to honor women who inspire others in the fields of technology, media, culture and business. We are excited to announce UAC President & CEO Sharmain Matlock-Turner has been nominated for a Rad Connector of the Year award. This celebration will be hosted by Rad-Girls.com, a digital platform for spirited females who are constantly achieving, innovating, and inspiring. It is an ongoing conversation between empowered women.
