1 out of every 8 women is diagnosed with breast cancer. When did you have your last mammogram? Register today for your free mammogram screening at State Senator Shirley M. Kitchen's District Office.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, State Senator Shirley M. Kitchen and Fox Chase Cancer Center will bring Fox Chase Cancer Center Mammogram Mobile to Senator Kitchen's district office located 1701 W. Lehigh Avenue beginning at 9am. Women who are over 40 and have a prescription from their doctor will be eligible to receive mammograms. In addition, the first 20 women who are screened will receive a free gift card.

Come join Global Citizen on January 19th, 2015 at Girard College for their King Day of Service event. Beginning at 8am, organizations will host a Health and Wellness Fair that will provide expert health advice, screenings for diabetes, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS and CPR training. At 9am, the King Day of Service Kids Carnival will offer service opportunities, stories and art projects all relating to the life, legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King.

State Senator Shirley Kitchen, in partnership with Quality Community Healthcare Inc., Temple Health and Greater Philadelphia Health Action, will hold the second of five Affordable Care Act and Medicaid open enrollment seminars on Thursday, December 4th at the Hunting Park Health Center from 4:30pm-7pm. This is the last official day to register for open enrollment. For Philadelphians who need help operanting the healthcare marketplace can get free, impartial assistance from certified navigators and councilors.

State Senator Shirley M. Kitchen will be offering free flu shot clinics on Tuesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 30th at her office located at 1701 West Lehigh. Residents over 65, young poeple with chronic illnesses, children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years and pregnant women are at higher than normal risk of catching influenza this season.
