YOACAP 4th Annual Blood Drive

UAC Program Partner YOACAP is collaborating with the American Red Cross Association for the 4th annual blood drive on Friday, August 30th, 2013. YOACAP has been dedicated to saving lives with their annual blood drive for the past three years. Since inception, YOACAP has saved 222 lives! This year, YOACAP’s goal is to collect 30 pints of healthy blood and with your help this goal will be reached!
2013 Youth Anti-Violence Health Awareness Initiative

UAC Program Partner Youth Adolescent Community Awareness Program (YO-ACAP) will be holding the 15th Annual Youth Anti-Violence Health Awareness Initiative on Thursday, June 27th, 2013. YOACAP is partnering with Vernon Montague, Resurrection Ministries, Myer’s Recreation Center, Southwest Community Advisory Group, and a number of other organizations for this annual community event.
Uptown Theater Tour & Health Fair

On Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 Uptown Entertainment Development Corporation (UEDC) will host an Uptown Theater Tour & Healthy Backyard BBQ.
UEDC aims to stimulate the economy in blighted neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia by developing neighborhood revitalization projects. UEDC’s first revitalization project includes Uptown Theater. The organization plans to renovate this space to include a technology center and artist lofts. The technology center will create jobs for 200 youth and adults in addition to providing entrepreneurial opportunities for members of the community.
Mom-N-PA Free Dental Services

Mom-n-PA is offering free dental services for children and adults on Friday, May 31, 2013 and Saturday June 1, 2013. No appointments needed! This clinic will have more than 800 volunteers including 120 dentists treat almost 2,000 patients!
YO-ACAP 14th Youth Anti-Violence Health Awareness Initiative
YO-ACAP 14th Youth Anti-Violence Health Awareness Initiative to be held at Francis J. Myers Recreation Center located 5800 Kingsessing Avenue on Wednesday,
June 27, 2012 from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Each year, the Southwest Community Advisory Group, YO-ACAP, Southwest EPIC Stakeholders, neighborhood United Against Drugs, TownWatch Integrated Services, and others work to support this event started by Vernon Montague.

On June 23rd, UpLift Solutions is hosting a Community, Health and Wellness Day at the SHopRite of Chetenham, PA. The day is designed to engage the community with health screenings, healthy recipe tastings, kid friendly activities and resources.
