Teenshop Inc. Rising Seniors Scholars Program Now Accepting Applications

UAC Program Partner Teenshop Inc. empowers ‘girls with goals’® to become caring, courageous leaders and change agents in their communities and beyond. Teenshop Inc. is now accepting applications for Rising Senior Scholars, a two week college prep residential program at Bryn Mawr College from July 12th until July 15th. While at Bryn Mawr College, girls who are seniors in high school will attend workshops that cover topics such as leadership, SAT Prep, college essay writing and financial literacy.
Coalition U: Social Media for Nonprofits

On Friday, February 6, 2015, Coalition U will host its first workshop of 2015. Social Media for Nonprofits will focus on assisting nonprofit and community organizations with developing or enhancing best practices for using social media. Attendees will have the opportunity to work collbaratively and share their experiences of social media practices that have and have not worked for their organizations.
2015 African American Children's Book Fair

On Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1pm-3pm, the 2015 African American Children's Book Fair will be hosted at the Community College of Philadelphia located at 17th & Spring Garden Street in the gymnasium. Award-winning authors and illustrators will be in attendance to read and autograph their books. There will be a wide selection of African American books for children, preschool to young adult available for purchase. As an added bonus, promotional giveaways, prizes, and games will highlight the afternoon.

Last year’s Martin Luther King Day of Service attracted over 125,000 volunteers and completed over 1,700 projects across Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The Philadelphia Region's Nonprofits & Innovations in Economic Development: Winter Launch Discussion

On Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm, The Philadelphia Social Innovations Journal (PSIJ) is teaming up with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) to assemble a panel of experts to discuss national and local trends, current projects and financing strategies. Panel topics will include innovated nonprofit projects in education and healthcare and neighborhood and place based development projects. This event will be followed by a reception from 4pm to 6pm.
