Auditions for Power 99's Power Squad

A youth mentoring program combined with hip-hop dance!

Mina SayWhat of Power 99 is starting a youth mentoring program through Dance called the Power Squad for girls in high school and college (juniors and seniors) that love hip-hop dance and have a 2.3 GPA or higher. The dance team will perform at Power 99 events.

Youth interested in auditioning must bring their latest report card to the audition!

Auditions and practices are every Friday beginning on June 7th, 2013 from 4pm-6pm at the Kingsessing Recreation Center located on 4901 Kingsessing Ave. For more information email Power99PowerSquad@gmail.com

Each year the Southwest Community Advisory Group, YO-ACAP, Southwest EPIC Stakeholders, Neighborhood United Against Drugs, TownWatch Integrated Services, and others work to support an event started by Vernon Montague.  

Putting young people to work

Philadelphia is facing a summer jobs crisis. Due to diminishing federal funds and the recession, estimates suggest that only 5,400 young people will work this summer through WorkReady Philadelphia, the city's youth workforce development system. Local employers, area foundations, and city and state governments are stepping up. But there's still a way to go to reach the target of 7,500 jobs.

BEE Camp hosted at German Town Friends School. A day camp focused on teaching boys and girls grades 6-10 Basketball and study skills.

BEE Camp hosted at  German Town Friends School. A camp focused on teaching boys and girls grades 6-10 Basketball and study skills. The camp runs in three sessions, July 9-15, July 16-20 and July 23-27. The camp runs monday through friday from 8:30am-3:00pm. Each session cost $150 but one can purchase all three sessions for $400.
