Coalition's Driving Change Golf Outing a Great Success

Each year, the Coalition places 1,200 young people, like David Buckholtz, in summer and year-round employment. The Coalition helped David leverage a $5,000 college scholarship from Sun Life Financial, and in February 2011 he competed for a national scholarship in Miami, Florida.

Freedom Rings

The Freedom Rings Partnership, led by UAC, officially launched on January 17, 2011, at the Greater Philadelphia MLK Day of Service at Girard College. More than 100 volunteers refurbished computers to be distributed back into the community, assembled digital literacy kits, and hosted a high-tech scavenger hunt called "Race to Connect."

 

Eugene Robinson

Eugene Robinson, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Washington Post and political analyst for MSNBC, met with Arise Academy Charter High School students during the 2010 Public Forum held by UAC and Comcast. Arise, founded by UAC, is the nation's first charter high school for youth in foster care.
