Family Day event will be a day filled with important and relevant resource information for the community, DJ and magician, clown with balloon, zumba dancing, free mildly used clothing, free hot dogs, prizes as well as other fun events.

NCNW sponsors social, educational, economic, cultural, health and self-help projects, both nationally and internationally.  In keeping with NCNW’s commitment to helping families in Philadelphia  communities, our Philadelphia Section hosts Family Day, as a community outreach/community service  project.  The purpose for this community service event is to educate and inform Philadelphia residents about the resources that are available to assist in improving the quality of their lives in the areas of health and nutrition, education, careers, family services,

TEENSHOP TO HOST "SHOES FOR LIFE" THOUSANDS OF SHOES TO BE DONATED TO NEEDY FAMILIES

(PHILADELPHIA May 11, 2012) - Teenshop, a nonprofit that empowers teen girls to become leaders in their communities, will hold its 2nd Annual Shoes for Life event on Saturday, May 19th. It will take place, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Berean Presbyterian Church at 2101 North Broad Street (Broad and Diamond Streets), which donated the location.

Student loan debt has reached over a trillion dollars! For this reason, UAC has partnered with Philadelphia City Controller, Alan Butkovitz for his Bank on Philadelphia program. This week, as part of the program, UAC's Tiffany Thurman taught a financial aid workshop to students at Philadelphia Mennonite High School. Students learned about the importance of understanding the basics of student loans. This is one of many financial literacy courses that will be provided by UAC throughout April -- Financial Literacy Month. A story on the workshop aired on NBC 10's Consumer Watch.
