Teenshop Inc. 5th Annual Shoes for Life

On Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 11am-2pm at the Berean Presbyterian Church on Broad & Diamond Street, Teenshop Inc. will host its 5th Annual Shoes for Life community service project. This program provides free new and gently worn shoes to men, women and children on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, girls going to prom can receive designer shoes from national and local celebrities with a school ID. Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine will also be performing free foot exams.
City Hall Honors Teenshop Inc. for 30 Years of Service

On Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 10am in Room 400 of City Hall, Teenshop Inc. will be honored with a resolution celebrating their 30 years of community service. Teenshop Inc. is a mentoring program designed to develop adolescent girls into leaders through an innovative series of life skills workshops, community service and college tours. Since 1985, Teenshop Inc. has expanded to Los Angeles, California and currently has three chapters throughout Philadelphia. For more information about the Teenshop. Inc.
PAAN Advisory Board Member Receives Award

The Support Center for Child Advocates will honor George D. Morse Jr., an Advisory Board member of Philadelphhia Anti-Drug/ Anti-Violence Network's (PAAN) and Philadelphia's Deputy District Attorney, with the Distinguished Advocates for Children Award. The award ceremony will take place at Child Advocates Annual Benefit Reception and Auction on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 beginning at 4:30pm at the Crystal Tea Room.
Coca Cola Pay It Forward Scholarship 2015

Do you know a high school student between the ages of 13-18 who is in need of a college scholarship? Coca-Cola is now accepting nominations for their 2015 Pay It Forward program that includes a $5,000 dollar scholarship and a mentorship with Steve Harvey. The Pay It Forward program is desined to help teens to reach greater heighhts, providing a three-day mentorship, leadership, and networking opportunity at the Pay It Foward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
iD Tech Summer Camps for Girls- Scholarship Program

This summer, iD Tech will be partnering with Code.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding participation in computer science, to send 100 girls ages 7-17 to iD Tech's summer camps for free. iD Tech camps teach programming, game design, robotics and more, and will be offered at the University of Pennsylvania, Villanova University and West Chester University. The scholarships are valid for day-only iD Tech camps.
ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship

ExxonMobil is now accepting applications for their Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships sponsored by the Council of the Great City Schools. To be eligible, applicants must be seniors in high school graduating from a school district represented by the Council of Great City Schools. A total of four scholarships for two males and two females, each $5,000 dollars, will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 5pm EST.
