In 2009, Mayor Nutter officially named April 16th Gay and Lesbian Latino AIDS Education Initiative (GALAEI) Day in Philadelphia. In honor of GALAEI Day, GALAEI would like to honor one adult and one youth with the 6th Annual David Acosta Revolutionary Leader Award (DARLA). The DARLA Award is presented to individuals who show leadership and work to improve the community in ways that align with GALAEI’s mission. In order to be eligible applicants must reside within Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery or Delaware Counties. All nominations must be receive online, through email or postmarked by Tuesday, March 31st. The award ceremony will take place Friday, April 24th at the Crane White Space.
