Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) with the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC) will host Making Communities Safe: Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design and Community Collaboration on Thursday, December 4th from 9:30am-12:30pm at the PECO Energy Hall. Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) directly addresses the relationship between the physical environment and the incidence of crime. This presentation will reveal how environmental factors contribute to persistent crime and show how to change them to reduce crime, In addition, the event will discuss SafeGrowth, a program designed for professionals in community development, planning, design and law enforcement.
