Position Summary: 
The Hotel Industry Relations & Tourism Development department directs, manages and coordinates the strategy to increase overnight stays. The department also serves as the main liaison between the hotel community and VISIT PHILADELPHIA. The Tourism Development Manager is responsible for coordinating, tracking and managing diverse components of tourism projects involving multiple stakeholders, including hotel partners. This person needs to be a collaborative worker who will interact across all VISIT PHILADELPHIA departments with staff at all levels.
Key Duties & Responsibilities: 
The primary responsibilities for this position are as follows: Project Management • Coordinate, communicate, traffic, track, schedule and manage the diverse components of projects in order to execute these projects effectively and efficiently. Duties include: o Manage and coordinate deadlines o content needs o development needs o other project requirements across departments • Communicate project-related information to both internal staff and external partners • Ensure both internal and external tasks are completed in accordance with the project scope and ensure projects stays on schedule Tourism Development • Work with partnership team to create and solicit opportunities for value-added hotel packages. • Manage hotel and sharing economy relationships to strengthen overall support for VISIT PHILADELPHIA initiatives. Relationships include (but are not limited to the following): o National hotel brands o Sharing economy disruptors o Transportation providers • Manage industry partnerships that have the potential to drive hotel demand • Manage industry partnerships that deal with industry disruptors • Attend hospitality events (day and night) to network with people from the industry • Other duties as assigned
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
Qualifications • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) • Strong organizational skills • Good relationship skills • Creative, organized and flexible • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines • Ability to adapt quickly • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Docs • Passion for Philadelphia and the region • Project management experience a plus • 3-5 years’ experience Educational Requirements • BA or BS
