Planning for New Budget Year

Last week, UAC held a meeting with its Program Partners to close out our fiscal year and to begin planning for the upcoming year. UAC provides financial management services and a range of supports to more than 75 community-based organizations in the region. UAC's administrative services support program leaders so that they can focus less on spreadsheets and more on mission. To accomplish this, each organization is assigned an accountant, who is overseen by UAC's Controller and CFO.  In addition, they work closely with staff from Program Services, Human Resources, Purchasing, IT, and Operations.

At the meeting,  Keith Daviston, CFO, discussed current processes and procedures as well as improvements and innovations in the Fiscal Department. Key issues included timely distribution of monthly reports and web-based invoicing. Additionally, to better support program leaders, Fiscal and Program Operations have increased collaboration.

The meeting was also a time to hear back from program leaders about their challenges and receive feedback. Daviston said, "We are always looking for ways to improve our services and we value the opinions of our partners who are working on the ground driving change every day."
