UAC Co-Convenes Forum on Jobs, Wages, Economic Opportunity and the Revitalization of America

On Thursday, July 28 from 10am - 1pm, join leading policy experts, including UAC President Sharmain Matlock-Turner, for a discussion on revitalizing urban America. Hosted by State Senator Vincent HughesA New Deal for a New Urban America will focus on policy solutions and how communities can organize for action on the issues of jobs, wages, and economic opportunity. Other speakers includeReverend Jesse Jackson (Rainbow PUSH Coalition), Catherine Pugh (Maryland State Senator),  Winne Stachelberg (Center for American Progress), Hector Figueroa (32BJ Employees International Union), Brian Hudson, Sr. (PA Housing Finance Agency), Marc Morial (U.S. Conference of Mayors), Judge Greg Mathis,Stephen Tang (University City Science Center), Terry O'Neill (National Organization for Women), and Bishop Dwayne Royster (National PICO Network). The forum will take place at Arch Street United Methodist Church, located at 55 N. Broad Street in downtown Philadelphia. The first panel of the forum will take place from 10:00am - 11:30am and the second panel from 11:30pm - 1:00pm. Both panels will broadcast live on WURD 900AM, Philadelphia’s premier African-American talk radio station.
