UAC Program Partner GALAEI Honors Community Leaders with DARLA Award

Date:
April 15, 2015

UAC Program Partner GALAEI is a queer Latino and social justice organization committed to advancing the LGBT community through leadership and economic development, sexual empowerment and grassroots organizing. In 2009, Mayor Nutter officially named April 16th GALAEI Day in Philadelphia. In honor of GALAEI Day, GALAEI will honor one adult and one youth with the 6th Annual David Acosta Revolutionary Leader (DARLA) Award on Friday, April 24. This award is presented to leaders working to improve the community in ways that align with GALAEI's mission.

In order to expand the programs GALAEI offers to the LGBT, Latino and HIV-infected population, GALAEI has relocated to Norris Town Square. The move will help GALAEI provide crucial services to the under-served populations in North Philadelphia. Although GALAEI is relocating, they are still a member of the UAC Family of Programs. To learn more about GALAEI, click here.
